Canon LARP is founded to be a recognizable brand for LARPs created by the same people, with a similar vision. It is based in the Netherlands. We have the ambition to be:

  • A safe place for everyone, with not place for any kind of discrimination off game. Clear rules about respecting boundaries, and being responsible for your own, make it possible to play safely with heavy themes.
  • An affordable and fair priced LARP organization. This means we will communicate where your money goes towards. Most work is done by volunteers (excl. photographers) and is unpaid. We ask participants to help with tasks, so that our volunteers do not have to do that on top of everything else they already do for free (like cleaning up). Many hands make light work.
  • A community. We want our volunteers and players to have fun and meet new cool people. This means at the event, but also in the ‘workshop’. Here history geeks, writers and creative people can enjoy their interests and build a LARP together.

Canon LARP wants to design LARPs which are:

  • Highly immersive and authenticool (not reanactment). This relates to food, props, in game documents and backgrounds. We try to show you the most interesting parts of the time period.
  • Focusing on real stories of the human heart. The hopeful ánd the dark. We simplify history to make it fit in one weekend, but we do not sanitize it. Our LARPs’s will never have a simple good vs bad narrative- (almost) all characters will think themselves the ‘good guys’- even the evil ones.
  • Telling the stories of emancipation of oppressed minorities. Our game attempts to honor our ancestors by showing their struggle in a realistic context. Our LARPs will always have stories about for example poverty, LGBTQ+ lives and gender oppression.
